This mint condition collector’s plate is the first issue in the "South Pacific" series officially authorized by the estates of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II to commemorate this highly acclaimed musical. Painted exclusively for this limited edition by Elaine Gignilliat and fired on fine china by Edwin M Knowles. This plate was strictly limited in 1987 to a firing period not to exceed 150 firing days. It was listed on the Bradford Exchange, Bradex number 84-K41-26.1. The colors on the face of the plate are brilliant and bright with a nice glaze. The artist’s signature is part of the picture. This plate is number 1970C. This will be a wonderful addition to your collection. The plate is eight and a half inch diameter.
